Playground Corner: We’re Almost There!

Big news! ONCOR is thrilled to announce that we’ve reached our “shovel-ready” milestone — with $1,075,000 raised through generous grants and community donations! That means we are just $125,000 away from making the Phase 2 dream of the Battery Park Playground a reality. 

Thanks to incredible support — including a recent $60,000 allocation from Speaker Melissa Minor-Brown through Community Transportation Funds — we’re now at $1,075,774 of our $1.2 million goal!

The funds ONCOR raised will provide the City of New Castle everything it needs to bring this next phase to life:

A spectacular “tall ship” playground structure

A smooth, rubberized surface for creative and fully accessible play

All installed and ready for fun by Summer 2026!

This playground is more than equipment — it’s a community legacy, a space where every child can play, imagine, and belong.
