Accessible Playgrounds Are a Big Investment
Some folks, including us, were initially shocked to learn the expense required to build an accessible playground. ONCOR's market research shows that rubberized surfacing and a ramped structure - features that allow children in wheelchairs to access all the fun instead of just watching from the sidelines - double the cost compared to an inaccessible playground. ONCOR thinks that investing in high-quality outdoor recreation for all of New Castle's children is worthwhile so that everybody can enjoy a place to play in their neighborhood.
